Mrs. Wood from HHS came over to HMS l today to talk with 8th graders about the Early College High School program which starts next year. Students in the program would graduate with both an Associates Degree from Blinn College and an HHS diploma. All 8th grade students are invited to apply to the cohort. Hempstead ISD schools will return to normal operations on Wednesday, January 17. All schools and facilities will be open. We want to remind our Bobcat Families to please dress your students appropriately for the cold weather. Please stay weather aware, dress warm, and be safe as you travel.

On Thursday, December 14, the LadyCats faced Danbury. Despite their valiant effort in 3 overtimes, we fell short at 20-24. Nevertheless, we are incredibly proud of our LadyCats for persisting and giving their all until the very end. It was a well-fought battle.


On Saturday, December 9, 2023, multiple HMS students represented our school in the UIL competition at Boling ISD. We are proud of their achievements! Luz Padron placed 6th in 8th grade Dictionary Skills, Luis Herrera placed 2nd in 8th grade Listening, Drake Randall placed 2nd in 6th grade Social Studies, and Garrett Lloyd placed 3rd in 8th grade Social Studies. Congratulations, Bobcats!




This morning several 7th grade girls and boys got up early to assist with the canned food drive at HES. They worked hard to collect the items, load the bus and unload the food at the House of Help! What a great way to learn about philanthropy and the joy of helping others!





The Winter Band concert has been moved from the Gazebo to Hempstead High School auditorium at 4 p.m. tomorrow due to potential inclement weather. See you all there!

The staff and students enjoyed coming to school in their warm, comfy, jammies today! Staff members were treated to a hot cocoa bar as well! Make sure you check out the upcoming theme days for December!
