Our HMS Band performed spectacularly Tuesday at their UIL Concert & Sight-Reading evaluation! They received a 1st division (Superior rating) in both Concert and Sight-Reading which earned them a UIL Sweepstakes Award, the highest honor a middle school band can achieve. This is also the first time Hempstead Middle School has ever received this rating, and our next goal is to make this a tradition in the years to come. 🙂🎶🤍💚

We hope that you and your family stayed safe during the winter storm. After speaking with local officials it has been determined that we are able to resume normal operations. We are looking forward to welcoming our students back to school tomorrow, Thursday, January 23, at the normal start times. Additionally, the monthly board meeting has been rescheduled to Thursday, January 23 at 6 p.m. in the Hempstead ISD Board Room. All Hempstead ISD offices and schools will be CLOSED for the Winter Break from December 23 - January 3. Friday, December 20 is an Early Release Day. HMS and HHS - 11:30 AM HECC and HES - 11:40 AM Staff will return on January 6, 2025 and Students will return on January 8, 2025.
