Hempstead Bobcat Athletics is hosting a mandatory parent meeting for middle and high school students interested in playing football this school year.

Football Parent Meeting: Thursday, July 31 | 6 p.m. | The Bobcat Den, 2432 9th St.
First Football Practice: Monday, August 4 | 5 to 7 p.m.

To ensure a smooth start, all athletes are required to have an updated physical completed before joining their respective teams. These forms will need to be turned in to the coaching staff before students can begin practicing

Back to School Transportation Update: If your student requires a special stop request, please contact your child's campus by August 6. Regular Transportation Requests should be completed during your online enrollment or annual update in the Parent Portal.

Bobcat Families, it is time to update your child's registration information for the 2025-2026 school year. All returning student parents/guardians should log in to ParentPortal and complete the Annual Update before July 21 to be added to campus rosters and receive a schedule for the new year. Through the summer feeding program, any child from ages 0-18 is eligible to receive breakfast and lunch at no cost. Join us in congratulating our 2024-2025 Transportation Employee of the Year, Tina Tippit! Ms. Tippit has served our district for the past three years as a dedicated Route Supervisor. She plays a vital role in supporting our drivers and ensuring students have a safe ride to and from school each day. Community Use Guidelines of Bobcat Stadium Track: Our district is proud to provide community access to the outdoor track for walking and wellness. Thank you for helping us keep it safe and respectful for all. 🕓 Public Hours: - The track is open from dawn to dusk when school is NOT in session. 🚫 Closed to the Public: - During the school day - When used by district athletic teams ✅ Track Guidelines: - Walkers and joggers only—no bikes, scooters, or pets - Please keep the track clean and respect the space - This is a tobacco-free facility - No glass bottles allowed - Yield to student-athletes and staff when present Thank you for supporting our schools and taking pride in our facilities.

Hempstead ISD Athletics is hosting an extracurricular activity physicals event TODAY from 2:30 to 6 p.m. The cost is $20. All middle school and high school athletes must have a current physical to participate in any athletic program. This includes participants in band, cheer, color guard, and drill team. Do you know someone making a difference in Hempstead ISD? The Superintendent’s Higher Heights Award is presented during the monthly Hempstead ISD Board of Trustees meetings to selected people or groups who have made a significant difference or contribution to Hempstead ISD. The award is available to employees, community members, businesses, volunteers, students, etc. Nominations may be submitted anonymously, by groups, or by an individual. Our HMS Band performed spectacularly Tuesday at their UIL Concert & Sight-Reading evaluation! They received a 1st division (Superior rating) in both Concert and Sight-Reading which earned them a UIL Sweepstakes Award, the highest honor a middle school band can achieve. This is also the first time Hempstead Middle School has ever received this rating, and our next goal is to make this a tradition in the years to come. 🙂🎶🤍💚
