Our students will begin taking their STAAR tests starting April 9th. To ensure our students are well-prepared and energized, we have the following events scheduled:
STAAR Test Pep Rally
Date: Wednesday, April 8th
Time: 1:30 PM – 3:00 PM
For: 3rd, 4th, and 5th grade students
Highlights: A special guest performer and coordination by our very own Student Council leaders!
Student Goal Setting
This week, our administrative team will meet individually with every 4th and 5th grade student during their specials periods. We will discuss personal STAAR testing goals, and each student will receive a personalized goal slip to help them focus on their specific growth targets.
🎉 All-Star Block Party Celebration
We are ending the season with a bang! Students who meet their growth targets in Reading OR Math will be invited to our massive celebration.
Date: Late May / Early June (Final date TBD)
Location: Hempstead Original Football Field
Activities Include:
Bouncy houses & water balloon activities
Mechanical Bull Ride (Exclusive for students who Meet or Master standards)
Food, music, and fun
Tiered Wristband System: Levels will be based on specific performance achievements.

Tutoring will take place on Mondays, Tuesdays, and Thursdays after school until 5:00 p.m., from March 23 through April 23.

I always enjoy my visits to the elementary campus, but today was extra special. I had the honor of recognizing 7 incredible 3rd graders with their National Math Star medals and letters to take home, such a proud moment for them (and for us too)! 🏅✨
I stuck around a little longer to spend time with students during their GT pull-out, and let me tell you… The creativity was on full display! They were designing and building mazes, testing different obstacles and materials to explore friction and movement. Hands-on learning at its best!
Moments like these are a great reminder of why we do what we do, supporting curiosity, celebrating achievement, and watching our students shine. 🌟

This is a quick reminder that our 3rd, 4th, and 5th-grade students will be taking their Reading Language Arts (RLA) Benchmark exams tomorrow and the following day.
These benchmark assessments are valuable check-ins that help our teachers measure student progress, identify areas where we can offer more support, and ensure everyone is on track for success later in the year.
