🚗 Car Rider Line Reminders 🚗

Good morning, HES families! ☀️

As we get into the swing of the new school year, we anticipate heavy traffic during morning drop-off and afternoon dismissal. To help keep our students safe and our car rider line moving smoothly, please help us by following these important procedures.

Please make sure your orange car rider tag 🟧 is clearly visible in your vehicle's window. This helps our staff quickly identify cars and get your students loaded safely. If you do not have a tag, you will be asked to go to the front office to verify your identity.

For morning drop-off, all car riders should be dropped off in the lot near Peebles Street 📍. The gate opens at 7:10 AM and closes promptly at 7:38 AM ⏰. If you are in line by this time, you will be able to enter. Students arriving after 7:38 AM must be signed in at the front office. The tardy bell rings at 7:41 AM.

To ensure the safety of all our students, please remember these safety rules:
🚫 Do not drop students off at the front of the school.
📵 Avoid cell phone use while in the car rider line.
➡️ Students should exit from the right passenger side of the vehicle.
🚗 Please pull all the way up when signaled to keep the line flowing.
👤 Stay in your vehicle at all times.

Back to School Transportation Update: If your student requires a special stop request, please contact your child's campus by August 6. Regular Transportation Requests should be completed during your online enrollment or annual update in the Parent Portal.

Bobcat Families, it is time to update your child's registration information for the 2025-2026 school year. Through the summer feeding program, any child from ages 0-18 is eligible to receive breakfast and lunch at no cost. Join us in congratulating our 2024-2025 Transportation Employee of the Year, Tina Tippit! Ms. Tippit has served our district for the past three years as a dedicated Route Supervisor. She plays a vital role in supporting our drivers and ensuring students have a safe ride to and from school each day. From coordinating routes to covering absences and minimizing disruptions, Ms. Tippit goes above and beyond to keep our transportation system running smoothly. Her commitment to safety, timeliness, and excellence is unmatched, and we are proud to recognize her outstanding service. Yearbook Pickup Info! Pre-ordered yearbooks can be picked up on Wednesday, May 28 during the following times: 9:00–11:00 AM and 12:00–4:00 PM. The HES Boys2Men Club wrapped up the year by writing letters to their future selves—a meaningful way to reflect on their growth. This year was filled with memorable moments, including visits from several inspiring guest speakers and students learning how to tie a tie, gaining valuable life skills along the way!

Last Friday, the 5th graders at Hempstead Elementary celebrated a major milestone with a fun and memorable dance! The event marked the end of their time at HES and was filled with music, laughter, and lots of dancing. It was a wonderful way for students to make lasting memories with friends and teachers before moving on to middle school. Congratulations to our 5th graders—we’re so proud of you!

The award-winning Hempstead Theatre Co. is hosting a summer minicamp for students entering Grades 1-5 at Hempstead High School Auditorium from June 23 to 27.
