The countdown is on as Hempstead High School FFA students prepare to showcase months of hard work, dedication, and hands-on learning at the annual FFA Project Show on February 20-21 at the Waller County Fairgrounds. For many students, the journey to the Project Show begins months in advance.
The Project Show kicks off at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday, February 20. The Buyers Dinner is at 5:30 p.m. on Friday, Feb. 20, followed by the Indoor Auction at 7 p.m. at the Waller County Fairgrounds on FM 359.

We hope that you and your family stayed safe during the winter storm. After speaking with local officials it has been determined that we are able to resume normal operations. We are looking forward to welcoming our students back to school tomorrow, Thursday, January 23, at the normal start times.

In observance of Martin Luther King Jr. Day, all schools and district buildings are closed on Monday, January 20.

Weather Update: Due to hazardous winter weather conditions, all Hempstead ISD schools will be closed on Tuesday, January 21, and Wednesday, January 22, 2025. The safety of our students and staff is our top priority, and this decision was made after careful monitoring of the latest road and weather conditions.
All scheduled activities and events on Tuesday and Wednesday have also been canceled. We encourage families to stay safe and warm during this time. Please monitor district communications for updates on Thursday’s schedule and additional information.

We are monitoring the possibility of freezing precipitation in our area early next week. Student and staff safety remains our top priority.
We will communicate with you as soon as decisions are made regarding school and extracurricular activities for Tuesday, Jan. 21. If there are changes, program sponsors will communicate these directly.

The Prarie View A& M University Whitlowe R. Green College of Education is offering a Master of Special Education. The Educational Diagnostician Certification is designed for individuals seeking to improve and extend their professional skills in special education.
The Master of Education, Special Education Degree with Educational Diagnosticians Certificate is a tuition-paid program consisting of a 36-hour master's degree plan and an 18-hour certification. Big things are happening at Hempstead ISD! Today, we officially began construction on the Bobcat Stadium track and field replacement, the first project of Bond 2024 🎉. The new track and synthetic turf field will serve our athletes, band, and dance and drill team for years to come.
