New Student Enrollment for the 2026-2027 school year will open soon.
Hempstead Elementary (K-5): Tuesday, July 7, 2026
Hempstead Early Childhood (PK), Hempstead Middle School (6-8), Hempstead High School (9-12): Monday, July 20, 2026
Parents/Guardians will need the required enrollment documents and an active email to complete new student enrollment. If you don’t have one, please visit our website to learn how to obtain one for free. Visit the enrollment webpage for more information.
Please note that we will not offer an in-person enrollment event in the summer. If you need assistance completing enrollment, please reach out to the campus registrar to schedule an appointment after registration/enrollment opens.
A student is NEW to Hempstead ISD if:
a student has never attended a school in Hempstead ISD; or
a student had previously attended a school in Hempstead ISD but withdrew before the school year ended and needs to re-enroll.
All registered students must be in attendance on the first day of school, or they will be withdrawn.
Steps to Complete:
Log into your existing ParentPortal account OR click Create Account and follow prompts.
Verify your email address.
From the My Account page, click Enroll a New Student.
Continue through enrollment and Submit to the District.
Once accepted, the parent will be contacted and given the student’s portal ID to link the student to their account and complete the next portion of enrollment.
NEW! Hempstead ISD Student Will Need the Following Forms to Enroll
Parents valid state-issued ID
Two forms of residency verification
Student’s social security card
Student’s birth certificate
Student’s immunization record
Previous report card/transcript
PK only: Proof of qualifications

Unable to Upload Documents?
Email documents to the campus registrar or drop them off at the appropriate campus.
Logged Out During Enrollment?
Log back in, click Enroll a New Student, then click Step 4 to continue.
Can’t Access the Resume Registration Button?
The email used for account setup must match the email listed in the contact section for the enrolling parent.
