The Bobcat Band gives its best performance to kick off its marching season. The band earned straight 1s, the highest possible rating, at the UIL Region 27 Marching Contest and secured a spot at the 3A Area Contest.
This year’s program, titled Space, took audiences on a journey beyond the stars. The show featured snippets of Gustav Holst’s “Mars” from The Planets, along with a moon-inspired tenor saxophone solo. The show was composed by Wally Minko and arranged by Erik Mott.
On October 24, the Bobcat Band competed at the Area Contest in Buna, Texas, finishing 22nd and moving up from last year’s placement. The Bobcat Band is under the direction of Ana Leach.
Looking ahead, the Bobcat Band is preparing for its Winter Concert and the Festival of Lights on December 5. Come out and support our talented musicians as they ring in the holiday season.
