The Hempstead ISD Board of Trustees met on Monday, October 20, 2025.
During the board meeting, Hempstead ISD Superintendent Herbert O’Neil provided his monthly Superintendent’s Report, honored the campus principals for National Principals Month, and celebrated the October Students, Campus Teachers, and Support Staff of the Month.
Hempstead Early Childhood Center pre-k students, from Marisha Jordan’s class, led the audience in the Pledge of Allegiance and the Pledge to the Texas Flag.

A Bond 2024 update was provided by project managers from Gallagher Construction during the meeting.

Trustees Approve Action Items
The Hempstead ISD Trustees approved the following action items:
Approved Budget Amendment # 1.
Approved Purchases Over $50,000 for Bond New ECC Construction Materials Testing Services.
Approved a resolution nominating a candidate(s) for a position on the Board of Directors of the Waller County Appraisal District.
Approved the 2025-2026 Hempstead ISD District Improvement Plan.
Approved the 2025-2026 Hempstead ISD Early Childhood Campus Improvement Plan.
Approved the 2025-2026 Hempstead ISD Elementary Campus Improvement Plan.
Approved the 2025-2026 Hempstead ISD Middle School Campus Improvement Plan.
Approved the 2025-2026 Hempstead ISD High School Campus Improvement Plan.
The November Board meeting will be held on Monday, November 17, and will begin at 6 p.m. in the Hempstead ISD Administration Building Board Room.
