The Hempstead ISD Board of Trustees met on Monday, June 16.
During the board meeting, Hempstead ISD Superintendent Herbert O’Neil provided his monthly Superintendent’s Report. His report highlighted summer programs and legislative updates.

Approved Budget Amendment # 7.
Approved TASB Policy Update 125 pertaining to the following Local Policies: BDAA(LOCAL): OFFICERS AND OFFICIALS - DUTIES AND REQUIREMENTS OF BOARD OFFICERS; BDB(LOCAL): BOARD INTERNAL ORGANIZATION - BOARD COMMITTEES; BDF(LOCAL): BOARD INTERNAL ORGANIZATION - ADVISORY COMMITTEES; EI(LOCAL): ACADEMIC ACHIEVEMENT; FDE(LOCAL): ADMISSIONS - SCHOOL SAFETY TRANSFERS; FEC(LOCAL): ATTENDANCE - ATTENDANCE FOR CREDIT.
Approved the 2025-2026 Hempstead Elementary School Turnaround Plan.
Approved a purchase over $50,000 - Bobcat Stadium Audio/Visual Scoreboard System.
Approved to amend the agreement for lawn care maintenance to include additional locations.
The July Board meeting will be held on Monday, July 21, and will begin at 6 p.m. in the Administration Building Board Room.
