The Superintendent’s Higher Heights Award is presented during the monthly Hempstead ISD Board of Trustees meetings to selected people or groups who have made a significant difference or contribution to Hempstead ISD. The award is available to employees, community members, businesses, volunteers, students, etc.
Nominations may be submitted anonymously, by groups, or by an individual. Hempstead High School proudly hosted its annual Academic Signing Day, honoring graduating seniors in the Class of 2025 who have committed to pursuing college, career, or military pathways after graduation.
Students were recognized individually as they crossed the gym floor, announcing their future plans, whether they are enrolling in college or trade school, beginning careers in high-demand industries, or enlisting in a branch of the U.S. Armed Forces. The celebration included cheers from family members, peers, and staff applauding the students’ dedication and next steps.

Today, 4th graders in Ms. Bustos class went on an exciting “Travel Around the World” math adventure! Students visited different “continents” by solving math problems. It was a fun day of learning, problem solving, and global exploration.





Last Friday, our Bobcat Band celebrated the end of a dynamic season with their annual band banquet.







We are very proud of our Hempstead High School Softball Team for making it to the playoffs. ✨What an incredible season! ✨

HHS students in Ms. Duncan’s ESL class have been diving into the powerful story of Esperanza Rising. The students have connected with the characters and their journey. To bring the story to life, they created beautiful yarn craft dolls inspired by events from the book.







Hempstead ISD schools and buildings will be closed on Friday, April 18, for a student/staff holiday. Classes will resume on Monday, April 21, 2025.

Last week marked the beginning of 🌟STAAR 🌟 testing! We wish our awesome Bobcat students the best of luck on their STAAR exams. You are prepared and ready for this! Stay calm and focused during testing. WE BELIEVE IN YOU! Good luck, and let's finish this school year strong!

Mrs. Smith’s 5th-grade math class is working on graphing coordinates using pool noodles to create life size graphs to mark x and y-axes to prepare for the upcoming STAAR exam. The students used yarn to help keep the grid lines straight and round post-it notes to plot the points.
