Did you know? Hempstead ISD has increased its accountability score from 58 to 77 since 2022. Over this period, Hempstead ISD is the number 1 district for growth in Region 4 and number 3 for the entire state.
That is 19 points of progress built through strong instruction, high expectations, and consistent focus on student learning.

Hempstead ISD is closely monitoring the weather conditions. Due to the anticipated inclement weather, athletic and extracurricular activities scheduled for Tuesday, September 1, have been canceled. We will continue to monitor the weather, and any updates will be provided on the hempsteadisd.org website and our social media channels.

Summer may mean a break from the classroom, but construction is in full swing across Hempstead ISD! Thanks to the support of our community through the 2024 Bond, exciting progress is taking shape on campuses throughout the district.
From the new Early Childhood Center to Hempstead Middle School's auxiliary gym and connector, additions of a new cafeteria and band hall at Hempstead High School, and the Elementary School connector starting soon, each project brings us one step closer to creating safer, more modern, and innovative learning environments for our students and staff.

Parents/Guardians can log in and learn more about their child’s STAAR® results and how they can provide additional support at home—beginning June 10 (end-of-course) and June 16 (grades 3–8).
Access your child's assessment results:
1. Log in to your Parent Portal account
2. Select your Child's Name
3. Select the green Texas Assessment button
4. Learn more about your child's STAAR results, including how your child answered each test question, and find personalized resources to support learning at home.
5. At the beginning of the next school year, discuss the results with your child's teacher and work together to support your child's learning and academic growth.

Today we recognize Juneteenth, also known as Freedom Day. Let today be a celebration, a reflection, and a call to keep moving forward together. Reminder, all District buildings and facilities are closed today in observance of Juneteenth and they will reopen on Monday, June 22.

Hempstead ISD Transportation Department has selected Kendra Wilson as the 2026 Hempstead ISD Bus Driver of the Year.
School bus drivers have an important role in education. Bus drivers safely transport our students to and from school daily. They are the first school personnel that students see in the morning and the last they see in the afternoon. They help set the tone for students' daily experiences.
