Hempstead ISD will host an Early College High School Family Information Night at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday, November 5, in The Bobcat Den, 2432 9th St.
Hempstead Early College High School blends high school and college coursework, allowing students to earn an associate degree or up to 60 hours of tuition-free college credit while earning a high school diploma. The model strengthens college readiness, removes financial barriers, and provides rigorous coursework with academic and social support.
“We are excited to continue offering this opportunity for our students,” said Coordinator of Advanced Academics and CTE Tanya Simons. “ECHS opens doors to higher education and gives students a supported, no-cost opportunity to begin college while they are still in high school.”
The Class of 2031 application will open in January 2027. Current eighth-grade students and their families are encouraged to attend the November 5 meeting. For more information, visit hempsteadisd.org/hechs.
