Hempstead ISD Educators presenting at CCRSM Leadership Summit 2026

Hempstead ISD Coordinator of CTE/Advanced Academics, Tanya Simons, and Hempstead High School English I and AP teacher had an opportunity to attend and present at the Texas College and Career Readiness School Models (CCRSM) Leadership Summit. They joined educators from across Texas who are working to help students achieve success beyond high school.

Simons and Payne presented “Bridging the Gap Before it Breaks: Preparing ECHS Students for College English Success," sharing the work Hempstead ISD has done to support Early College High School students as they prepare for the rigor of college-level coursework.

“Throughout the conference, one message continued to resonate: CCMR is not a checklist—it is long-term architectural work,” Simons explained. “Building sustainable systems that support students requires intentional planning, strong partnerships, collaboration, and a shared vision for the future.”

After presenting during the conference, they are excited to bring new ideas, strategies, and connections back to Hempstead ISD as we continue expanding opportunities for our students through ECHS, Dual Credit, CTE, and College, Career, and Military Readiness initiatives.
