Spring 2026 Retiree Celebration

On Tuesday, May 26, Hempstead ISD celebrated three district employees retiring this year.

Kristie Toliver – 27 years
Ms. Toliver most recently served as the Hempstead High School library aide. She previously served as the Hempstead High School culinary arts paraprofessional, LifeSkills paraprofessional, and an Elementary School paraprofessional.

Rosalyn Hunter – 9 years
Ms. Hunter most recently served as the Hempstead High School DAEP paraprofessional and previously served as the High School LifeSkills paraprofessional and an Elementary School paraprofessional.

Ronald Walker – 16 years
Mr. Walker most recently served as the Hempstead High School Band Director.

District staff, family, and friends were in attendance to support the three retirees. Superintendent Herbert O’Neil, Executive Director of Human Resources MaBisha Stubblefield, Board Secretary Susan Hopkins, Board Member Sharon Thibodeaux, Hempstead High School Principal LaKesha Morgan, and colleagues offered them words of support. They were celebrated with a rocking chair to thank them for their service in Hempstead ISD.
