Due to ongoing bond construction projects across the district, the main office areas at both Hempstead High School and Hempstead Middle School will be temporarily relocated this summer.
Please note that construction timelines are weather-dependent, and dates may change due to inclement weather.
Beginning Wednesday, May 27, both HMS and HHS campuses will be closed to the public in their current locations. Please review the temporary office information below.
Hempstead High School
The HHS main building will be closed beginning May 27.
HHS staff are expected to return to the main building on Monday, June 8, pending construction progress and weather conditions.
During this time, HHS office staff will be temporarily housed in the portable buildings labeled B and C, located to the left of the HHS student parking lot.
Parking & Access
Visitors should park in the HHS student parking lot to access the temporary HHS offices. The student parking lot entrance is located at Donoho Street and Bobcat Circle.

Hempstead Middle School
HMS offices will close beginning May 27 and are expected to remain relocated through August 2026.
HMS office staff will be temporarily housed in the DAEP portable buildings labeled I and J.
Parking & Access
To access the HMS temporary offices, turn right at Donoho Street and 7th Street onto Bobcat Circle. Visitors may park along the street near the DAEP portables.

Hempstead ISD Summer Hours
All district buildings will operate on summer hours:
Monday – Thursday
7:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
Free Summer Meal Program
Hempstead ISD will offer Breakfast and Lunch at the Hempstead High School/Middle School Cafeteria (Bobcat Den) located at 2432 9th Street, Monday - Thursday, in June.
Meals will be offered on the following dates in June:
Monday – Thursday, June 1 – 4
Monday – Thursday, June 8 – 11
Monday – Thursday, June 15 – 18
Monday – Thursday, June 22 – 25
Monday & Tuesday, June 29 - 30
Breakfast will be served from 8:30 a.m. to 10:00 a.m., and Lunch will be served from 11:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.
