Hempstead ISD band students showcased their talent at the ATSSB Area Band and All-State Tryouts on Saturday, January 10.
Damian Vega-Stephens, Hempstead High School senior, has advanced to the ATSSB All-State Band for the second year in a row. Joining the most accomplished student musicians from across the state, he will have an opportunity to perform at the Texas Music Educator Association (TMEA) Convention in San Antonio, TX, on February 14.
Competing at this highly selective level reflects months of preparation, discipline, and a strong commitment to musical excellence.

Kamila Padron Aguilar on Flute Ranked 18th
Brandon Sanchez Suchite on Bass Clarinet Ranked 5th
Damian Vega-Sephens on Trombone Ranked 1st
Christian Vega-Stephens on French Horn Ranked 18th
Juan Lozano on Baritone Ranked 12th
