Hempstead ISD has announced the hiring of Chance Bartkowiak as the new Hempstead High School Head Baseball Coach. Most recently Bartkowiak has been serving as a student teacher and long-term substitute at Hempstead High School.
Bartkowiak is no stranger to Hempstead ISD. He is a proud 2016 graduate of Hempstead High School, where he played baseball his senior year. He spent the majority of his childhood playing little league and travel baseball. After graduation, he attended both Blinn College and Texas A&M University. He majored in History and minored in Sports Management.
Bartkowiak has worked with Hempstead Little League since graduating high school and has served as both a coach and an umpire. Additionally, he was a member of the Washington County Little League team, which won state and placed at the southwest regionals. Not only is he passionate about the sport but he is passionate about the Hempstead community and the students. This year, he looks forward to creating new opportunities for Hempstead ISD students.
“My goal is to create an authentic winning culture that gives the players an opportunity to be the best version of themselves,” he explained. “This season will be about how we can learn and grow to get better every single day and push ourselves to newer heights as a program.”
This year, he plans on helping his athletes shape their goals and create a plan to make them happen.
