Hempstead ISD is excited to welcome Amy Carter as the new Chief Financial Officer.
Carter joins Hempstead ISD from Sweeny ISD, where she also served as the Chief Financial Officer. She has nine years of experience in Texas public school finance and a bachelor’s degree in Accounting from University of Houston-Clear Lake. Additionally, Carter is a Certified Public Accountant and a Certified Texas School Business Specialist.
“I am honored to be given the opportunity to join the Hempstead ISD community,” Carter said. “I look forward to continuing the great work in this district by supporting students, teachers, and staff in achieving their goals. I am excited to join the team.”
Carter lives in Brenham, Texas with her husband and two dogs. She has a garden and raises honey bees. She and her husband have four adult children and one grandson.
