Superintendent's Welcome

Welcome to Hempstead ISD! Our school district and our entire community is committed to the success of our students and all those blessed to call Hempstead home.

The schools are the heart of this tight-knit community, and it is an honor for me to serve as superintendent.

We serve approximately 1,630 students on four campuses from Pre-K through High School. Here in Hempstead, everyone is a Bobcat. Our students attend the same schools together throughout their academic careers, and that allows them to develop strong relationships with one another and with their teachers. We are focused on providing excellent learning and many opportunities for every student, preparing them for success in college, career and military service.

We believe in helping every student discover and pursue their talents. Our students excel in the classroom, in the fine arts, athletics, and in the FFA arena and other areas of interest. Our faculty and staff understand that each child is unique, and they develop academically, socially, and emotionally in different ways. Our goal is to help learners to discover how to think critically and creatively, solve problems and adapt to our ever-changing world.

We believe that our parents are our most important partners in education, and we encourage every parent to become involved in the Hempstead ISD family. We have lots of fun events, including parent game nights and festivals. We also offer a parent academy to enrich our parents in continuing education and building new skills.

The Hempstead community does an amazing job of surrounding our district with support. Area businesses, faith communities and volunteers enrich our family in innumerable ways.

Welcome to our community. I encourage you to get involved and discover all that Hempstead ISD has to offer you and your family.

Please follow us on Facebook and Twitter to see all of the great things happening in Hempstead schools! Let’s go to #HigherHeights together.
