Banks will be joining the Mustangs upon graduation this year to play football under Coach Bill Maskill.

Family, friends, coaches, teachers, and administrators were on hand to show support for Banks at the signing that took place during the NCAA National Football Signing Day in the HHS Competition Gym at Hempstead High School. Fellow teammates and classmates were also on hand to witness the event and show their support.

Prior to his signing, Head Football Coach Royce Hill spoke on Banks hard work and dedication as a four year starter for the Bobcats. “There are not many young men who walk through the doors as a freshman, play all four years, never hesitated, and did everything you asked of him,” said Coach Hill. “Now his hard work is paying off.”

Ahmad thanked his family and his coaches for pushing him every day.

Just a couple of highlights from his high school football career include: Four Year Letterman; 1st Team Quarterback and 2nd Team Cornerback his senior year; District MVP his junior year; 1st Team Defensive Back and 2nd team Quarterback his sophomore year; and 2nd Team Defensive Back his freshman year. He also earned Academic All-District honors his sophomore and senior years.

Banks plans to study criminal justice while at MSU with plans to graduate from college with a goal to play in the NFL.

Congratulations to Ahmad Banks on his accomplishments and scholarship to Midwestern State University. Hempstead ISD wishes him the very best in his future endeavors!
